Our school camps are an important addition to the curriculum which the children thoroughly enjoy. These include:
Year 6 Gold Coast Camp
Our Year 6 camp, based at NRMA Treasure Island Resort, offers an exciting and enriching experience that brings learning to life beyond the classroom.
Students will take part in a variety of activities including the Bear Grylls Survival Academy, archery, team challenges, wildlife experiences at Currumbin Sanctuary, a Learn to Sail program, and the Australian Outback Spectacular. On-site recreation and evening activities add to the fun and connection.
The camp supports key areas of the Australian Curriculum, including Health and Physical Education, Science, HASS, and The Arts, while developing important life skills such as resilience, teamwork, leadership, and independence.
Students will stay in shared cabins with staff supervision, ensuring a safe, supportive, and memorable experience for all.
This camp is a wonderful opportunity for our Year 6 students to learn, grow, and celebrate together.
Year 5 Emu Gully Camp
Emu Gully Adventure Camp is an all-inclusive, activity based camp. The camp offers several different programs of instructor-led activities that are purpose-built for developing teamwork and leadership and are typically based around epic events in our history. Each program focuses on the character values of Courage, Mateship, Sacrifice and Perseverance and are professionally facilitated to enhance learning outcomes both in the moment and with application to real life.
This year, the students will participate in the Challenge Program. This program is exceptional for building teams, overcoming obstacles, enhancing communication skills and developing leadership capacity.
The Challenge program is divided into three main activity categories:
- Introductory Activities: participants learn to think outside the square, listen to each other and identify strengths within their team
- Core Activities: the focus is on experiencing and demonstrating the core character values of Courage, Mateship, Sacrifice and Perseverance
- Extension Activities: physically challenging activities requiring leadership, communication, teamwork and responsibility
