On Friday, 11th June, classes 2R, 2/3C and 3KB set off on our excursion to the Darling Downs Zoo. We all enjoyed the bus trip and when we arrived at the zoo, we ate our morning tea in the picnic area.

Then one of the zookeepers brought a baby crocodile over for us to pat. It was cute and felt very bumpy. Then we were ready to explore the zoo and see many different types of animals. We saw many birds, including cockatoos, pelicans, ducks, swans, emus and ostriches. We saw koalas, wombats and many different types of monkeys. There were snakes, tortoises, lizards, alligators. We watched many animals being fed, including the dingoes, tigers, lions, giraffes, cheetahs. We were able to feed some animals too, including the kangaroos, emus, ostriches, zebras and deer.

We came back to the picnic area to eat our lunch and the zookeeper brought a python for us to pat. It was very smooth. We enjoyed another walk around the zoo before we had to collect our bags and get back on the bus. Some of us were very tired and fell asleep on the bus.

We all had a great time at the zoo and we learned so much information about the beautiful animals there.
