EAL D Student Learning August 2017

Our EAL/D (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) Program supports our students who are new to and/or
learning English. Our Learning Goals are to increase students’ word vocabulary; develop oral and written sentence structure; and to improve students’ oral reading and reading comprehension. Our program works in conjunction with Classroom Teachers and provides pre-teaching and support to the learning activities that are happening in the classroom.   We also provide structured opportunities for social development and positive peer interactions.  Students are encouraged to learn through play and social interactions with their peers.  This is a crucial time for expanding students’ vocabulary and oral communication skills in English.  Here are a few of our of EAL/D students at work on their English and Maths skills; eating croissants, and displaying their finished written pieces.
Kind Regards
