This year all Brisbane Catholic Education Schools have been focussing on student attendance as we understand the importance regular attendance plays in student learning and progress. The theme for this focus is Attendance Matters and system data shows that 1 in 5 primary students do not attend school regularly and do not meet the minimum required attendance as outlined by Education Departments. This minimum attendance requires students to attend for at least 90% of the time. Presently school data shows that that 1 in 5 students are still not meeting this minimum required attendance. This year, as we work to improve attendance we are striving to meet the goal of 90% of students attending for 90% or more of the time. Today only 80.7% of the students are meeting this target and as a school it is important that we continue to work hard to ensure regular school attendance.
