As I welcome you back to the start of the new term I do so from the very chilly Canberra where I have the pleasure of supporting our Year 5 & 6 students on their Canberra trip. The weather, although cold, has been fantastic with clear skies helping to ensure a very enjoyable experience for our students.
Over the past three days the students have enjoyed learning about the very important history of Canberra and the ACT by visiting many significant sights and these have included, the Capital Exhibition, Parliament House, Telstra Tower on Black Mountain, Thredbo, Geoscience Australia, Government House, Royal Australian Mint, Canberra Museum and Dinosaur Museum.
Today we look forward to visiting the Australian War Memorial, Old Parliament House, the Electoral Commission, Australian Institute of Sport and Mt Ainsley. On Saturday, the students will enjoy their final day of the Canberra experience visiting Questacon prior to departing for home and returning with many stories and lasting memories of Canberra and their learning of democracy in Australia.
