In the Gospel this week, Jesus says the words “Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her.” In the passage, the woman they are talking about has broken one the ten commandments and Jesus is faced with a dilemma- does he condemn the woman as the scribes and Pharisees say he must, or does he forgive her? He chooses neither and instead puts it back onto those questioning him. If they are blameless and faultless, then they can condemn the woman. This message from Jesus is important for both students and adults, as we often find ourselves blaming and condemning others for things. We need to remember that we ourselves are not guiltless or faultless and as such, we should not condemn or judge others. Let us remember this message during the Easter season and ‘Be the Light’ for each other.
