This week began with the OLGC School Community taking time to recognise and celebrate Remembrance Day. This year was even more significant as it was 100 years since the end of World War I. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918 was the agreed time when all fighting would cease. This was a remarkable achievement as it ended a war that extended from 1914-1918.
Each Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to take a moment and pause to remember all those who have fought and continue to work today to protect us and ensure world peace.
May their efforts never be forgotten, and may we continue to strive to find peaceful ways to resolve conflict around the world.
