2018 Catholic School Swimming Carnival

Trophy.jpgCongratulations to all the swimmers who participated in the Catholic Swimming Carnival last Friday. OLGC’s great sportsmanship and outstanding efforts did not go unnoticed. It was wonderful to watch our team. The carnival consisted of over 300 swimmers from seven schools and had a total of 84 events throughout the day.

OLGC were the overall winners for the day. Congratulations to all competitors. This is the sixth year in a row that OLGC have brought home the trophy. Top effort OLGC!!!!

The top ten fastest boys and girls were selected to compete in an open boys and open girls 100m freestyle skins event. Congratulations to Aryan P, Callum H and Lillian S who were selected to swim in this event and a big congratulation to Aryan who won this event. What a wonderful achievement.

Thank you to Mrs Drew and Mr Vaughan for their remarkable effort organizing the event. A very big thank you to Mrs Toohey for her wonderful efforts with the technical side of running the carnival on the day. Thank you to all the officials particularly those in the key positions of marshal and check starters who did a marvellous job having the swimmers ready, the referee and Mr Monaghan our awesome starter for keeping the events pumping through, place judge, awards and certificates for their efficient work, the managers for having the swimmers at marshalling on time, and all our parent timekeepers on the day who had a long day and did a great job. It is a very big job setting up for a swimming carnival with the touch pads, so thank you to all those who assisted setting up and pulling down.
