February 28, 2013: National Rugby League Development Blitz
This term in Week Five OLGC physical education classes participated in the National Rugby League Development Blitz programs.
The Prep – Year Three classes included a 40 minute session combining a P-3 literacy component with a physical activity. The literacy component included discussing the importance of learning to read, the modelling of male role models who enjoy reading and the reading of a book by the presenter.
The Year Four – Seven classes participated in a “Say No to Bullying” program combining a “Say No to Bullying” component with a physical activity. The “Say No to Bullying” session is designed to help students identify what bullying is and strategies to deal with bullying either as a victim or as a witness to bullying.
Each session was delivered by National Rugby League Game Development Officer, Lennie Currie.
